Robert Lewandowski has poured praise on on-loan Manchester United star Marcus Rashford, who’s enjoying a new lease of life with Barcelona.
After falling entirely out of favour under Ruben Amorim and spending the second half of 2025/2026 with Aston Villa, the forward finally secured his desired Camp Nou move last summer on a season-long deal.

The Catalan outfit do have the option of signing him permanently upon the culmination of his spell and, currently, all signs are pointing towards them activating the clause.
However, Barcelona are looking to haggle on the £26 million fee United set for Rashford, but INEOS have made it clear that if they don’t pay up, they won’t be getting him at all.

In regard to how the 28-year-old is faring, he has returned an impressive 10 goals and 13 assists in 36 appearances across all competitions.
He’s recorded his most prolific attacking form in the Champions League, where he’s scored five goals and assisted a further four in just eight appearances and 464 minutes of action.
Rashford has already claimed silverware in a Blaugrana shirt via their Spanish Super Cup triumph over Real Madrid, while the side sit atop La Liga by four points and face Newcastle United in the last-16 of the UCL, meaning more trophies could be on the way before the term draws to a close.
When asked by Sky Sports recently whether he was ‘surprised’ by Rashford’s ‘quality and character’ upon his arrival in Hansi Flick’s ranks, Lewandowski replied: “After a few training sessions, no. He has huge potential.
“He has everything. He has speed, he has technique, he has a shot, he has left foot, right foot, skills…
“But Marcus is the guy, if you give him confidence and he sees that you believe in him, he can give you back 200 per cent.”
“He’s a very nice guy,” the Poland legend continued. “We spoke because we are sitting in the dressing room beside [each other]. We also play ping-pong. I see that this guy is very kind, a very nice guy, but also because of this, he needs someone standing behind him.
“If he does have this confidence, he can really play his best football and on the best level.”
