In an interview with Le Parisien, Robert Lewandowski (35) confirmed that he and Kylian Mbappé (25) had met to discuss becoming teammates at Paris Saint-Germain.

In 2022, it was reported that the two had met in Cannes, with Mbappé trying to convince the Polish international to join him in Paris. However, his efforts to recruit the striker were in vain as Lewandowski decided to leave Bayern Munich for Barcelona instead.

It was a story that was largely forgotten about as Lewandowski and PSG went on their separate paths in the 2022/23 season. The forward became a champion in his first season in Spain, while PSG went on to win their 11th league title.

However, in an exclusive interview with Le Parisien, Lewandowski explains that the two did indeed meet to discuss the prospect. When asked if he had ever talked to Mbappé about becoming teammates, Lewandowski confirmed the story, “It was the subject of our conversations, of course.”

He continued, “He’s 11 years younger than me, so he has his whole life ahead of him. I don’t know if one day I’ll play with him, but it would be something special: easy for him and easy for me.”
