Robert Sanchez had a pretty quiet game in goal for Chelsea yesterday – he didn’t have a huge amount to do as his team controlled the game further up the pitch.

He was able to sit back and watch the Cole Palmer show, as the midfielder bagged a hattrick.

“He’s brilliant. He’s not even at 100 percent yet, he has just come back from injury, and still managed a hat-trick,” the goalkeeper said when speaking to the club’s official website.

“We’re very happy. Everyone knows how good he is, so he needs to keep it up. He’s only going to get better. It was a great win, we’re very happy with the result,” Sanchez continued.

“I think the first half was brilliant. In the second half, the goal they scored came from a situation we could have avoided. That gave them some energy to come at us, and we struggled a little bit. But at the end of the day, we won the game, so I’m very happy.”

The keeper also had some positive words to say about his new boss:

“It’s brilliant [working under Rosenior]. His style is about dominating the ball and he came with a positive attitude and energy. The boys have really embraced it, and we’re enjoying it a lot.”

Things really are trending in a great direction. The players seem really happy, and are getting results to boot.

In other news…

Liam Rosenior had shrugged off the idea that Palmer isn’t 100% fit – but both Sanchez here and Palmer himself have said that that’s the case.

Rosenior admitted that the second half performance against Wolves was disappointing, especially in the context of how well the team had done in the first period.
