Roberto Bautista, 38, made a dream start to his football return, scoring twice in three minutes on debut for Els Ibarsos in a friendly against Morella, showing he has the level to compete in Primera FFCV.
He needed only 10 minutes to open his account, levelling from inside the area after a neat exchange, then struck again three minutes later with a similar right-foot finish to make it 2-1. "I have drawn a line under many years of tennis. Now I want to enjoy myself and do things that, thank God, because tennis went very well for me, I could not enjoy. I am really up for it and enjoying training a lot," Bautista told El Periódico Mediterráneo.
In 37 minutes he was involved in 10 actions, recorded 10 touches and two attempts, both goals, while committing one foul. The brace capped an efficient cameo built on sharp movement and clinical finishing.
"I am going to play up front." "No, not at all. I have just arrived. While I was a professional I liked coming here once a week and I have friends with whom I have enjoyed many moments."
"I was not sure until things went well. Football came naturally to me and it was a very tough decision. I am very proud of the career I have had and now I hope to enjoy a few years of football, until my body lets me."
