Roberto De Zerbi at risk of Marseille sacking | OneFootball

Roberto De Zerbi is at risk of the sack by Olympique de Marseille, according to a report from RMC Sport.

It comes after OM’s dramatic elimination from the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night. Even after last week’s 3-0 defeat at the hands of Liverpool, Marseille had a strong chance of making the top 24 and progressing to the playoffs. 

Opta even had the Ligue 1 side’s chances of progression at 94% ahead of the visit to face Club Brugge. However, a 3-0 defeat in Belgium, coupled with Benfica’s 4-2 win over Real Madrid, as well as a string of other results going against them, saw OM finish 25th. 

RMC Sport now understands that De Zerbi is in danger of the sack. The publication understands that there are talks underway between all parties in order to reach a decision over the Italian’s future at the Vélodrome. 

Les Phocéens are currently third in Ligue 1, seven points behind current leaders Paris Saint-Germain.
