Tottenham Hotspur manager Roberto De Zerbi has informed winger Manor Solomon that he does not feature in his plans for the upcoming campaign, freeing up the Israel international to seek a permanent transfer away from North London this summer.

De Zerbi’s stance marks an abrupt end to any hopes Solomon harboured of resurrecting his stalled career at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium under his former Shakhtar Donetsk mentor.

Solomon originally completed a free transfer to Spurs in the summer of 2023 following a productive loan stint at Fulham. However, his tenure in the capital has been severely hampered by injury.

Just six weeks into his debut season, a severe meniscus tear in training limited him to just six senior appearances before ruling him out for the rest of the year.

To regain competitive sharpness, Solomon was sent on a sequence of loan spells, including a highly successful campaign at Leeds United, followed by shorter, mixed stints at Villarreal and Fiorentina.

Having brought in Mathys Tel and Xavi Simons over the last 18 months, Spurs have all but moved on from the ‘unplayable’ Solomon and De Zerbi has communicated that a clean break is the most logical path forward for all parties.

The winger’s current contract runs until June 2028, meaning Tottenham could collect a decent transfer fee to help fund some of their summer spending.

Leeds United retain admiration for their former loanee, while Crystal Palace previously sought to bring him to Selhurst Park before pulling out at the last moment. It remains to be seen if either club will pursue a move this summer.
