Roberto De Zerbi has said he's ready to help Enock Mwepu do whatever it is he wants to do after being forced to end to his playing career.
Brighton's Mwepu has had to retire at the age of 24 following the discovery of a hereditary heart condition.
He was told by doctors that if he was to continue playing with such a condition, he would be "at an extremely high risk of suffering a potentially fatal cardiac event."
Following the announcement of his retirement, the Zambian stated that he intended to remain in football in some capacity going forward.
"A boy from a small Zambian township called Chambishi has some news to share. He stood strong to follow his dream of playing football at the highest level, and by the grace of God he lived his dream by reaching the Premier League," he said.
"Some dreams however come to an end, so it is with sadness that I announce the need to hang up my boots because of the medical advice I have received. This is however not the end of my involvement with football, I plan to stay involved in some capacity."
It remains to be seen in what capacity that will be, but Brighton manager De Zerbi says he's ready to help in any way he can.
"I don't want to speak about money," he explained: "I want to speak about the human problem, and I am very sorry for him and his family."
