Midfielder Roberto Gagliardini has informed Inter that he has no intention of extending his contract past the end of June 2023, and that he would like a move away this summer.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the 28-year-old has an expectation of more playing time and will look for a new club in order to get it.
Gagliardini featured in a number of matches for Inter last season, but he was rarely included in the starting eleven and was rather seen as more of a rotation option.
The midfielder’s desire is to play a more prominent role in a team, and he understands that this is unlikely to be the case at the Nerazzurri.
Accordingly, Gagliardini has let Inter know that he will not be agreeing a new deal past the end of the current one which runs out next summer, and so the club can either let him go for free next summer or sell him this summer.
