Roberto Mancini is once again in charge of the Italian national team with Claudio Ranieri taking the role of technical director.

The former Manchester City manager was most recently in charge of Qatari outfit Al-Sadd, winning the Stars League last season. Now the 61-year-old is back in international management with Claudio Ranieri as his technical director.

The news comes after an attempt to hire Andrea Pirlo was blocked with Paolo Maldini and Leonardo then resigning from their roles.

The former player first took the Italy job in 2018, with the Azzurri once absent from a World Cup. Mancini then led the team to glory at the European Championships played in 2021 but resigned from the role after failing to qualify for the 2022 World Cup.
