Liverpool will entertain PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday night as they look to secure a good result at home in the UEFA Champions League. The Reds suffered a disappointing 3-0 loss against Nottingham Forest recently, so they would be eager to return to winning ways in midweek.

Arne Slot will set his players up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make a couple of changes to his first team for this game. Both Andy Robertson and Hugo Ekitike could play from the start of this contest.

Defence

Alisson Becker will operate in between the sticks for the Reds after shipping in three goals in his last outing. Ibrahima Konate will play alongside Virgil Van Dijk at the heart of the Liverpool backline as they look to keep a good shape on the defensive end of the pitch.

Dominik Szoboszlai will once again fill in as the right-back, while Andy Robertson hopes to give a good account of himself on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will get the freedom to go forward and express themselves inside the opponent’s half.

Joe Gomez and Milos Kerkez will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Midfield

Curtis Jones will operate alongside Ryan Gravenberch as they look to establish their superiority over the opposition at the centre of the park.

The gifted trio of Cody Gakpo, Alexis Mac Allister and Mohamed Salah will play just ahead of them as part of the Liverpool attack. All three of them need to be at their best if the Reds are to secure a convincing win versus PSV in midweek.

Federico Chiesa and Wataru Enzo will have to be content with a place on the bench as they wait for their chance to make an impact in the second half if needed.

Attack

Hugo Ekitike will lead the charge for the Merseyside club up top. He would be eager to impress in midweek and make himself a regular starter in Slot’s starting XI.

Alexander Isak will have to be content with a place on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the latter stages if the Reds are in need of a goal.
