Robin Roefs has cooled talk about his future at Sunderland amid fresh links to Tottenham.

According to Sunderland Echo, Spurs have added the 23-year-old goalkeeper to their summer shortlist as they assess options for next season, with the London club fighting relegation. The report also notes interest in Bart Verbruggen and James Trafford, with Guglielmo Vicario expected to move on, while Sunderland are confident of keeping Roefs.

Roefs has delivered a standout debut Premier League campaign after joining from NEC Nijmegen in a deal that included add-ons, quickly becoming one of Le Bris’s most important players.

He was injured against Bournemouth and missed several games, during which Melker Ellborg impressed. His return in the 1-0 win over Tottenham underlined his status as first choice when fully fit.

Asked about rising attention, he said he is focused on the trust from team and coach, feels appreciated inside the club, and is largely unmoved by outside noise.

Pressed on talk of a move, he added that it is not the time to consider rumours, he will simply keep going, and he believes Sunderland can build on promotion next season.
