Former Manchester United striker Robin van Persie has landed a new project after parting ways with Feyenoord this summer. The former striker is fondly remembered at Old Trafford for playing a starring role in the club’s Premier League triumph in the 2012/13 campaign.

Van Persie took charge at De Kuip in February 2025, helping Feyenoord finish third in the league. The Dutch manager had a mixed 2025/26 season in charge of the Eredivisie club, but managed to guide them to second place in the league.

Despite helping Feyenoord qualify for the Champions League, Van Persie was relieved of his duties in June. The former striker, who had started his managerial career with Dutch club Heerenveen, is yet to pick up his next managerial assignment.

Robin van Persie: Managerial Career Stats

However, it now appears that he has already landed a surprise new role.

Van Persie is ENGWE’s global ambassador

According to the Mirror, Van Persie has become e-bike brand ENGWE’s global ambassador. Speaking on the matter, the Dutchman said: “Throughout my career, reliability has always mattered. Being able to trust the people around you, your equipment and your decisions.”

“That is one of the things that attracted me to ENGWE. Today, staying active and finding better ways to move are just as important to me.”

A spokesperson for the e-bike brand added: “Robin represents performance, discipline and reliability, but also an active way of life that goes far beyond football. Together, we want to make e-mobility a more natural part of everyday life and inspire more people to move, explore and enjoy every ride.”

While Van Persie may have parted ways with Feyenoord, his son Shaqueel van Persie is part of the club’s first-team squad. The Dutch side have already appointed Giovanni van Bronckhorst as their new manager.

Van Persie’s record at United

Van Persie arrived at Old Trafford in the summer of 2012 from Arsenal as United looked to add a new striker to their squad. The legendary Sir Alex Ferguson convinced Arsene Wenger to let the Dutchman leave, and it was soon clear that the Red Devils had managed a coup.

Van Persie ended up registering 30 goals and 10 assists in 48 appearances as United won the Premier League title. That would be Sir Alex’s parting gift to the club, as he retired at the end of the season.

The Dutch striker stayed at Old Trafford for two more seasons, but could not replicate the numbers from his debut campaign. Van Persie left in the summer of 2015 to join Fenerbahce, before returning to his boyhood club Feyenoord for a brief spell.

The Dutchman retired in 2019 and ventured into management.

Final Thoughts

Van Persie has already shown promise during his brief managerial spell and one assumes that he will return to football management soon. For now, though, the Dutchman can enjoy the fresh challenges of his new role.
