Robin van Persie's future as manager of Feyenoord is in doubt but he can't blame his son Shaqueel van Persie who tried to come to his father's rescue.

The elder Van Persie brought his teenager son during Sunday's Rotterdam derby against Sparta and he produced two spectacular goals in the space of a minute to change the score from 1-3 to 3-3.

The first of those was a cheeky flick before a spectacular bicycle kick – a remarkable way for a young forward to score their first ever professional goals.

However, there was a late sting in the tail for Feyenoord who ended up losing when Joshua Kitolano scored in the 94th minute.

Feyenoord are now 16 points behind runaway league leaders PSV with Ajax just two points behind despite only drawing at home to Go Ahead Eagles on Saturday.

The writing does seem to be on the wall for Robin van Persie unless results change fast. In the last 12 games Feyenoord have won just twice with eight of those dozen games ending in defeat.

Van Persie's side are also in trouble in the Europa League, they play Sturm Graz next but have only won of their six games in the competition this season, losing five.
