Robinio Vaz, 18, has entered Marseille’s top 10 record departures after a 22 million euro move to AS Roma following a bright half-season in Ligue 1.

Signed from Sochaux for 200,000 euros in 2024, the Mantes-la-Jolie-born forward made 14 appearances with four goals and two assists. According to L'Équipe, the fees cited exclude potential bonuses.

The transfer places Vaz eighth on Marseille’s all-time sales list, ahead of Dimitri Payet’s 15 million euro switch to West Ham and Samir Nasri’s 16 million move to Arsenal. He joins a group that includes Giannelli Imbula among the club’s biggest sales.

Despite some sizeable deals in recent years, including Renan Lodi to Al Hilal and Luis Henrique to Inter Milan, the podium has remained unchanged for nearly a decade. Michy Batshuayi leads on 39 million to Chelsea in 2016, followed by Didier Drogba on 38.50 million to Chelsea in 2004 and Franck Ribéry on 30 million to Bayern Munich in 2007.

This stagnation underlines Marseille’s difficulty in maximising player value, particularly graduates from their academy. By comparison, such a sale would rank 17th at Lyon, 12th at Lille and 13th at Rennes.
