According to Superdeporte, talks between Barcelona and Manchester City over Rodri Hernández are in their final phase, and Barça aim to seal a deal within hours for a fee above €70 million including add-ons.
Rodri’s future has dominated the window since the prospect of him leaving City gathered pace. Real Madrid were in the frame early on, but Barcelona have gained ground over recent weeks.
City have been reluctant to part with one of their most important players, and Barcelona have worked on a structure to meet the English club’s demands. After a lengthy tug-of-war, the sides now appear much closer to a full agreement.
As talks continue, Rodri has rejoined City training and is working with the group while his future is settled. His involvement does not rule out a move.
The City manager has kept the possibility of a departure open, noting that no scenario is closed before the window shuts while discussions progress.
If the remaining details are finalised, the Spain international would end one of the summer’s biggest negotiations and become a flagship addition to Hansi Flick’s project, marking a return to LaLiga.
