Rodri names his Barcelona role model | OneFootball

Barcelona summer signing Rodri has this week named the former Blaugrana star whom he considers to be something of a personal role model.

Midfielder Rodri is of course for his part currently working to settle fully into his new surroundings in Catalunya’s capital, following his big-money summer arrival from Manchester City.

After Frenkie de Jong was condemned to another long-term spell on the sidelines, the 30-year-old was brought in to man the base of Hansi Flick’s Barcelona engine room.

This of course an iconic role, previously filled by some of the standout players in world football.

And during an interview with Mundo Deportivo this week, Rodri named one such player as someone whom he considers to be both an icon and a personal example.

Having spent the early years of his legendary career learning from the ex-Barca standout as an international teammate, Rodri highlighted the name of Blaugrana hero Sergio Busquets.
