Rodri risks suspension after being charged by the FA over comments about Premier League officials following Manchester City’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham on one February.

The federation said in a statement that the midfielder acted inappropriately in a post-match media interview, making remarks that implied bias and questioned the integrity of one or more match officials, contrary to FA Rule 3.1.

After the match, the Spain international suggested City win too often and some do not want them to, adding referees must be neutral and that, to him, the situation did not feel fair.

He also referred to a Dominic Solanke tackle on Manchester City defender Marc Guéhi. He said small details decide the league and that everything counts, warning it could otherwise become difficult for everyone.

He has until Wednesday 18 February to respond.
