Rodri 'to agree' Barcelona move after Real Madrid wait

Manchester City captain Rodri has reportedly given the go-ahead to join Barcelona after weeks of links to Real Madrid.

According to Jijantes, the Spain international communicated his decision in mid-afternoon on Thursday, after encouragement from several Barcelona team-mates in the national squad.

Barcelona had shown interest early in the window, then stepped back as Real Madrid advanced. Frustrated by the wait for Madrid, Rodri chose to hear Barcelona’s case.

Any deal now depends on Manchester City and Barcelona reaching agreement on a fee.
