Rodri has urged Barcelona to pursue Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez, praising the Argentine’s versatility and saying a reunion at Camp Nou would be spectacular.

"Would I sign him here? Of course," he told Mundo Deportivo.

"I think he is a sensational player. I would take him here without hesitation. I had the chance to play with him for two years, and I think he is an incredible player, truly incredible."

Alvarez was courted by several European heavyweights in the summer, including Barcelona and Real Madrid, but Atletico were reluctant to strengthen direct Spanish rivals. Arsenal were linked too, though the Argentina international was said to be uninterested in a Premier League return.
