Rodrigo Garro’s ever-present run ended as Corinthians beat Barra 1-0 on Tuesday in the Copa do Brasil’s fifth phase. The Argentine was named among the substitutes, halting his sequence of 22 consecutive appearances in 2026.
He had featured in every game since debuting on 22 January against Santos in the Campeonato Paulista, facing 20 different opponents and supplying one goal and six assists. According to Meu Timao, he was rested for this tie.
With Garro out, the longest active streak in the squad belongs to Yuri Alberto with nine in a row, including goals against Flamengo and Platense. Gustavo Henrique follows on eight, Jesse Lingard on seven, Raniele on six and Kayke on five.
Fernando Diniz has leaned on stability early in his tenure, keeping the same starters for his first three matches, versus Platense and Independiente Santa Fe in the Libertadores and Palmeiras in the Brasileiro.
Injuries and suspensions forced changes for the meetings with Vitória and Barra, and Garro’s omission fits the broader physical management of the group. Corinthians return on Sunday at 16:00 to face Vasco da Gama. The match, initially scheduled for Neo Química Arena, is part of the 13th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
