Rodrigo Garro opened Corinthians’ Brasileirão campaign with an assist, despite a 2-1 loss to Bahia at Vila Belmiro on Wednesday, moving onto the club’s 2026 assist list.
According to Meu Timao, he exchanged passes with Memphis Depay on the edge of the box, then slipped a first-time ball for Breno Bidon to finish unmarked.
Of Corinthians’ seven goals in 2026, four have come from assists, two from rebounds and one from a penalty.
Last year, Garro ranked second among the club’s providers with eight, behind Depay on 10, with Matheuzinho on six. In 2024, his debut season, he led both Corinthians and the Brasileirão with 15, including 11 in the league.
Garro has played only three matches in 2026, this was just his second start. He came on in the clássico with Santos and started against Velo Clube. Versus Bahia he completed 84% of his passes in the opposition half and hit seven of eight long passes.
He is expected to start Sunday’s Supercopa Rei final at 16:00 with Yuri Alberto and Memphis Depay. Flamengo, the opponents, also lost their league opener, 2-1 to São Paulo.
Corinthians’ 2026 assist list so far: Vitinho one against Ponte Preta, Ryan one against Ponte Preta, Pedro Raul one against São Paulo, Rodrigo Garro one against Bahia.
