Rodrigo Garro marks milestone, eyes Botafogo clash

Midfielder Rodrigo Garro will experience a special moment this Sunday (30), when Corinthians faces Botafogo at the Neo Química Arena. The Argentine will reach the milestone of 97 games wearing the black and white jersey, becoming the foreigner from his country with the most matches for the club, surpassing Fausto Vera. This achievement, for the number 8, represents the fulfillment of a dream since his arrival at Parque São Jorge.

“For me, it is an honor. From the first moment I arrived here, I dreamed of many things. Being able to play, to leave my mark here, in a club with an incredible history. Happy, very grateful to the entire club, the fans, my teammates, who are part of this goal. God willing, I will reach many more”, declared the midfielder to Corinthians TV.

Garro also spoke about the match against Botafogo and highlighted the importance of playing at home, emphasizing the confidence gained throughout the week's training. “Like all matches, we need to go in with the will to play. It will be a tough game, but here at home, every game is special. We wrapped up a very good week of work, so we are confident and hopeful. God willing, we will have a good game”, he stated.

In the first round, Corinthians and Botafogo drew 1-1 at the Nilton Santos Stadium, with Memphis Depay scoring the black and white goal. Now, playing at home, Timão seeks its 13th victory in the championship to stay alive in the race for a spot in the 2026 Libertadores.
