Rodrigo Muniz says he wants Flamengo return

"Yes, I have a very strong connection with Flamengo, I still have friends who play there. I have a special affection, I came through the club," said Rodrigo Muniz. He told ESPN.

"I want to go back, also because I am Brazilian. With this desire I have to play football, it is certainly a place I would go back to, yes."

A Flamengo academy graduate, Muniz topped the scoring charts in the 2019 Brasileirão Sub-20. He stepped up in 2020 and impressed in the first team under Jorge Jesus.

He was then loaned to Coritiba. On his return, with Rogério Ceni in charge, he became an important part of the attack and was sold to Fulham in 2021.

Flamengo face Fluminense on Sunday 12 in the 11th round of the Brasileirão, kick-off 18:00 Brasília time at the Maracanã.
