Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers is reportedly open to joining Arsenal, while Wolves are weighing up Pedro Lima’s next step and Joao Gomes’ proposed switch to Atletico Madrid has encountered fresh doubt. Talksport reports that Arsenal view Rogers as a top target and that the 23-year-old is keen on the move.
Rogers has emerged as a key figure under Unai Emery, and any exit from Villa Park would likely require a significant fee.
Reports in Brazil suggest Atletico Mineiro want a season-long loan for Lima with a £3.4 million option to buy. Wolves are said to prefer another European loan after a brief spell at Porto last term.
Mundo Deportivo reports the Atletico Madrid move for Gomes has hit a stumbling block, with an initial fee mooted at 40 million euros, £34.5 million. The outlet also said Jorge Mendes was involved and that Atleti explored Bernardo Silva, who instead joined Real Madrid.
Atleti still want midfield reinforcements but are not prepared to meet that price, and are looking at Sporting’s Morten Hjulmand and Roma’s Manu Kone. The impasse could invite Galatasaray back into contention, with the Turkish club seemingly open to funding the fee.
