Clinical finishing and composure defined Mexico's opening victory at the Concacaf U-20 Championship, as El Tri collected its first three points with a 3-0 win over Antigua and Barbuda on Friday at Estadio Cuauhtémoc, thanks in large part to an outstanding performance from the Rojiblanca Academy.

With six Chivas prospects in the starting lineup, Alex Diego's side took control of the match in the first half against the Caribbean nation. Sebastián Liceaga, Carlos Hernández, Yohan Orozco, Samir Inda, Hugo Camberos, and Santiago Sandoval formed the backbone of the Mexican squad, making a clear impact throughout the match and helping secure the convincing victory.

Camberos opened the scoring in the 12th minute, calmly converting a penalty kick that he had won himself, while Sandoval capitalized on a defensive mistake deep into first-half stoppage time to double Mexico's advantage.

In the second half, Diego Covarrubias came on to replace Samir Inda, adding fresh legs and stability to the Mexican midfield. Late in the match, goalkeeper Sebastián "Cancún" Liceaga came up with a timely save to preserve the clean sheet and cap off a strong start to the tournament.

Mexico now turns its attention to its second group-stage match, where it will face Costa Rica once again at Estadio Cuauhtémoc in a battle for the top spot in Group B. The match is scheduled for Monday, July 27, at 8:00 PM.
