Bayer Leverkusen have extended the contracts of chairman of the board Fernando Carro to 2029 and sporting director Simon Rolfes to 2031. The club said in a statement that the leadership duo will continue their work with the Rhineland side.
Rolfes’ new agreement keeps him in post for at least another five years.
"Bayer 04 has been my sporting home for many years. This contract extension therefore means a great deal to me. Together we have created a strong foundation on which we want to continue building," said Rolfes.
The pair have helped establish Leverkusen as one of the Bundesliga’s top clubs in recent years.
Their combined work culminated in winning the Bundesliga title in the 2023-24 season.
Leverkusen have been extremely pleased with the pair, making the renewals a logical step.
