Roma change Oosterwolde terms with Fenerbahce after failed medical | OneFootball

Another Roma transfer deal has been thrown into doubt, as Jayden Oosterwolde’s injury concerns mean they are now only prepared to make it a free loan from Fenerbahce.

The two clubs had shaken hands five days ago on a loan for circa €1m with option to buy for €15m plus bonus at the end of the season, becoming an obligation if certain conditions were met.

However, after some issues were flagged in the first medical test, the player underwent further scans, and the response was not good.

The Corriere dello Sport now claim that Oosterwolde is not expected to be back in action until December or even January.

This is a big difference compared to the version that Fenerbahce staff had told them, which was that he’d be out for a couple more weeks following a muscular strain.

Roma are not abandoning the player entirely as a transfer target, but it’s reported they will now ask Fenerbahce to take him on a free loan with option to buy that is not an obligation.

It is now up to the Turkish team to decide whether or not to accept these new terms.
