Roma are confident in landing Alexander Sorloth from Villareal.

The Norwegian striker is now in pole position to replace Romelu Lukaku in the Italian capital.

After scoring 23 goals and 6 assists in La Liga this past season, Sorloth is now being strongly linked with a move to Roma.

The Giallorossi have already opened talks with the player who would go on to earn 2,8-3 million euros in case of a transfer to Serie A, reports Corriere dello Sport.

Villareal’s initial asking price of 38 million euros does not scare Roma: the Giallorossi know that the Spanish side will have to comply with UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations.

After missing out on Europe and finishing eighth in the league, Villareal will have to raise capital through the sales of players like Sortloth.

Roma think they can sign the Norwegian big man for less than 30 million euros and are waiting for Villareal to lower their demands.
