According to Calciomercato, Niccolò Pisilli’s future at Roma is under serious review, with a potential loan departure in January being discussed.

The report suggests that Pisilli has struggled to break into the first team under Gasperini, who prefers more experienced midfielders, leaving the young talent on the fringes. Neil El Aynaoui’s arrival has pushed the talent further down the pecking order.

His recent performances with Italy’s U21s, including a brace, have only added to expectations that he needs regular game time to continue his development. In Rome’s current setup, however, Pisilli is viewed as surplus to requirements — the club may decide that a temporary move is the best path forward.

While Roma value Pisilli highly, the midfield competition is intense, and the club may feel the risk of stagnation outweighs the benefits of keeping him in the squad. A loan move in January would allow him to gain minutes elsewhere, with Roma still retaining close oversight of his progress.
