Niccolò Pisilli imagined a different American summer.
He dreamed of experiencing the World Cup with Italy, but instead he had to settle, so to speak, for a vacation in Miami with his girlfriend Anastasia Conti, just steps away from his teammates Koné and El Aynaoui, who were key players during the tournament.
His future, however, remains firmly in Trigoria. In recent days, Como once again came knocking on Roma’s door, but they received a clear answer: no, writes Il Messaggero.
The Giallorossi club has decided to secure Pisilli and has no intention of letting him go. There are two reasons.
The first is technical. Gasperini considers the midfielder an important asset and intends to give him even more playing time than last season.
In a squad that will also face the Champions League, Pisilli could become a valuable asset thanks to his intensity, versatility, and room for growth.
The second reason is regulatory. UEFA’s rosters for next season’s Champions League require players born and raised in the club’s youth system. Pisilli, from this perspective, is a crucial asset.
He’s not just a young player to be developed: he’s also a valuable asset for building the European squad.
Roma has already decided to lock down Svilar and Wesley, who are considered unsellable unless they receive outsized offers.
Pisilli, in fact, should be added to these two names. This is an important signal, because in a market dominated by capital gains, the club could have considered sacrificing some young players. However, the door remains closed for him.
