AS Roma are weighing up a renewed move to sign Chelsea winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Serie A side are seeking a deal for a €5 million initial loan fee, with a €55m option to buy at the end of the season.

Roma see the 22-year-old English winger as a top target to strengthen their wide attacking options and are looking to test Chelsea’s resolve late in the transfer window.

Roma previously had a loan enquiry that Chelsea rejected, but the Giallorossi have maintained their interest.

They are now considering whether a larger upfront commitment and a total package worth up to €60m could persuade the Blues to enter formal negotiations.

For Bynoe-Gittens, the interest from Italy represents an attractive opportunity for regular first-team football.

Competition for places at Stamford Bridge has limited his opportunities, with his only appearance this season coming in the EFL Cup against Luton Town.

While Chelsea rate Bynoe-Gittens’ long-term potential, a substantial loan fee, combined with a non-mandatory €55m purchase option, lets them retain flexibility while also securing an immediate financial boost.

Roma’s pursuit comes as head coach Gian Piero Gasperini looks to add firepower to his frontline ahead of a Champions League return.

Roma have started the season in superb form, scoring eight times in two league games to sit top of Serie A on goal difference.

I Giallorossi welcome Atalanta to Stadio Olimpico on Saturday, by which time they hope to have finalised another attacking signing, whether Bynoe-Gittens or another target.
