Roma has no intention of repeating last summer’s situation in an attempt to bring Jadon Sancho to the capital.
Thus, La Repubblica reports, the Giallorossi will not participate in any auction for Mason Greenwood, the capital’s top target to strengthen their attack in the upcoming summer transfer window.
After the Vaz deal in January, Roma would like to complete a second deal with the French club, but they don’t intend to drag the matter out too long.
If Marseille accept the Giallorossi’s offer, Greenwood will be a new Roma player; otherwise, they will focus on other targets.
This, then, will be the first mission for new sporting director Tony D’Amico: anticipate foreign competition from Atlético Madrid and the Turkish giants and give Gian Piero Gasperini the first long-awaited signing.
Relaunching is no longer in fashion at Trigoria, and the offer for the 2001-born English talent could be just one: precisely for this reason, it must be carefully formulated, hoping Marseille will relent and not raise their demands too much.
