Giacomo Raspadori’s future will be decided today.
Roma expects a definitive response from the player by this evening, hoping for a positive outcome. If the deal doesn’t work out, however, the Roman club will change course.
Gasperini, writes La Gazzetta dello Sport, is particularly determined to bring Raspadori to the capital as soon as possible.
The former Napoli striker, after not playing a single minute in the Super Cup derby against Real Madrid, finally appears willing to accept after a long courtship from the Giallorossi.
Meanwhile, the situation in other transfer negotiations appears more complicated.
Zirkzee’s deal is temporarily on hold, while for Robinio Vaz, Roma faces stiff competition with clubs like Milan, Napoli, Manchester United, PSG, and Bayer Leverkusen poised to pounce for the 2007-born player.
Vaz has refused to renew his contract with his current club, and a parting ways is increasingly likely.
The asking price for the player is around €30 million, but the deal could materialize for between €20 and €22 million, assuming a compelling offer from a major Premier League team doesn’t arrive.
Before yesterday’s match against Sassuolo, sporting director Massara called the deal “unlikely,” emphasizing the difficulties primarily due to the intense competition surrounding the French striker.
