Roma enters tonight’s match against Inter without Wesley and Koné.
These absences are impacting Gian Piero Gasperini’s rotation for the match at San Siro, but both players’ recovery journeys are progressing faster than expected.
Originally estimated at around a month, the timeframe for their return to the pitch appears set to shorten, providing the coaching staff with crucial resources for the Champions League push.
Diagnostic tests in recent weeks revealed Wesley had a myotendinous tear in his right hamstring, sustained during his time with the Brazil national team.
Koné, on the other hand, had a hamstring injury in his right thigh, sustained at the end of March.
Despite the severity of the injuries, the Giallorossi coach opened up about the possibility of an early return: “They’re doing better than initially diagnosed,” he said at a press conference.
According to La Repubblica, the concrete goal is to have them available again for the match against Atalanta, scheduled for April 18th.
