Roma have found another option in their lengthy search for a winger and tabled an offer for Rodrigo Mora, while they haven’t given up for Alessio Cacciamani, Fabrizio Romano reports (via SOSFanta).
In the meantime, they have brought back Lorenzo Pellegrini, who agreed to a one-year contract with an option. He spent the summer as a free agent and rehabbing after undergoing a procedure on his thigh. Gian Piero Gasperini stated he wouldn’t be ready to play for at least a month. Like Paulo Dybala, he slashed his wages to stay.
As for Mora, Roma tested the waters for a loan with an option to buy, but Porto prefer an outright sale. They have tendered €25M plus conspicuous bonuses and sell-on clause. His valuation is €45/50M. Galatasaray are also after him.
The Giallorossi are also preparing a bumper offer for Cacciamani. Torino would like to keep him, but they’ll have to turn a profit on somebody this summer. According to Alfredo Pedullà, they had lodged a €12M bid plus €3M bonuses. They’ll raise but not by a lot.
Considering from where they had started, their targets have progressively gotten less ambitious and younger, but not necessarily cheaper. Gian Piero Gasperini is great at developing youngsters, but surely wouldn’t mind it if they acquired a bona fide star that doesn’t need much time or coaching to make an impact.
It doesn’t make a lot of sense for Torino to part ways with one of their rare prospects without enjoying him at first and before he fully flourishes, especially after they hired his former Juve Stabia coach.
