Roma will look to make a move for Lille’s Alexsandro (24) in this transfer window, according to L’Équipe.
The performances of the Brazilian centreback have reportedly caught the attention of Jose Mourinho’s side. The defender has been almost ever-present within the backline, wracking up 24 appearances across all competitions for Les Dogues.
It is thought that the Italian side will make an offer to the French side in the coming days as they attempt to secure the player on a loan deal with a compulsory purchase option. The deal is likely to be structured in this way so that Roma can comply with financial fair play restrictions, as they are currently unable to make a direct transfer.
What Lille think of this offer and whether they would be willing to allow their centreback to leave midseason is yet unclear. He has been an important part of a cohesive defensive unit alongside his partner at the back, Leny Yoro (18). However, both players are now subject to outside interest.
This would not be the first time that Alexsandro has found admirers in Serie A, with L’Équipe stating that Sassuolo strongly considered attempting to coax the player away from France last summer.
