Roma’s transfer window could conclude with a midfield signing.

While waiting to find the new attacking winger Gasperini so desires, sporting director Tony D’Amico is working to bring a new midfielder to Trigoria.

The name of the latest hours is Ivorian Franck Kessié, who wants to return to Italy after his stint with Al Ahli in the Arab world.

The former AC Milan and Atalanta midfielder has also been sought by Juventus for some time, who are keen to beat Roma to the Continassa.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, however, the Ivorian isn’t the only player being explored by Roma.

Should El Aynaoui leave, the Giallorossi could launch an attack for Habib Diarra, the 22-year-old Senegalese currently playing for Ghisolfi’s Sunderland. Another player intriguing Gian Piero Gasperini is Richard Rios, who was already sought last summer.

Finally, D’Amico’s shortlist also includes Brighton’s Ayari, who had an excellent World Cup with Sweden.
