Serie A side Roma saw Donyell Malen thrive in the second half of last season and are now expected to land his Dutch teammate Crysencio Summerville from West Ham.

Yesterday, there were suggestions that Roma have had two bids for the winger rejected but this hasn’t stopped them from pushing further.

Alfredo Pedulla has an exclusive, claiming the deal is set to go through. Roma are about to reach an agreement with West Ham for just under €50 million, with Gian Piero Gasperini having had him at the top of the shortlist for many weeks now.

This could prove to be an ambitious yet an excellent deal from Roma, who dealt with Summerville’s entourage when they signed Malen. The player’s 1v1 ability suits Gasperini’s system and that is why the Italian has been desperate to sign him.

The money invested is big by Serie A standards but there is every chance Summerville’s value increases. He was looked at by many major English sides and that speaks volumes for his ability.
