The January transfer window is approaching, bringing with it the inevitable “Africa blues” that will hit Roma.
With Evan Ndicka and El Aynaoui missing for the Africa Cup of Nations, the Giallorossi management is looking for midfield solutions.
According to CaughtOffside, sporting director Frederic Massara has his eye on Soungoutou Magassa, a 2003-born French midfielder with five senior caps.
The former Monaco player has long been a target at Trigoria and was already on the club’s wish list for a possible replacement for Koné.
Having moved to West Ham last summer for €17 million, Massara could attempt a new move as early as January to cover the emergency situation.
Competition for Magassa is fierce, including European clubs such as Eintracht Frankfurt, Nottingham Forest, and Napoli.
