Roma are preparing a defensive switch.

With Jan Ziolkowski increasingly close to leaving, the Giallorossi have identified Nottingham Forest’s Morato as a potential replacement for the Pole in Gasperini’s squad.

As Sky Sport reports, the two clubs are already working to reach an agreement.

The deal is set up on a loan with an option to buy, which could become a mandatory buyout if certain conditions are met.

The two deals are closely linked. Roma wants to secure a replacement first and only then give the final green light to Ziolkowski’s departure.

With Morato’s arrival in the capital, the Pole will be able to leave Trigoria and join Monza. D’Amico is working on a combination: one defender comes in, another goes out, without leaving Gasperini’s defense exposed.
