Reports in Italy confirm that centre-back Evan Ndicka has suffered an injury that will end his season with Roma and has also put his place at the 2026 World Cup with the Ivory Coast at risk.
According to reports from Sport Mediaset, Ndicka suffered a second-degree lesion of his right hamstring during the Derby della Capitale between rivals Roma and Lazio in Serie A on Sunday.
The injury will definitely rule him out of Roma’s final league match of the 2025-26 season, which comes away against the already-relegated Hellas Verona on Sunday.

Ndicka’s injury is likely to keep him sidelined for several weeks, which means that he is likely to miss the beginning of the 2026 World Cup campaign. The tournament kicks off in less than a month’s time, on June 11, and the Ivory Coast will first be in action against Ecuador on June 15.
Ndicka has started in every Serie A match he has been available for this term. He has 31 league appearances to his name in 2025-26, missing one game through a yellow card suspension and five due to the Africa Cup of Nations midway through the season.
Daniele Ghilardi and Jan Ziolkowski are among the options to replace Ndicka in the Roma line-up this weekend.
