Roma are widening their search for a right-sided addition before their Champions League return. Nicolò Savona has emerged as a potential target as Gian Piero Gasperini looks to strengthen last season’s third-placed side.

Il Messaggero reports that Savona could leave Nottingham Forest in this summer window, which would make him an attainable option for a club that must balance finances before the end of June.

The former Juventus defender joined Forest last summer in a €13 million deal. He has experience in both Italy and England.

Roma have also considered Davide Zappacosta for the right flank, although a move for the Atalanta wing-back is viewed as far more complicated.

Roma continue to assess right-sided options while working within their end-of-June financial obligations.
