Romain Faivre has joined AJ Auxerre on Thursday on loan from Bournemouth, with no option to buy.

L'Équipe reports the 27-year-old trained with the squad in the morning before the move was confirmed, and the loan runs until the end of the season.

He had been expected to join Le Havre. He remains under contract with Bournemouth until 2028 and will wear number 28.

Auxerre are struggling in Ligue 1, second bottom with 12 points from 17 matches.

Faivre returns to the French top flight having played for Brest, Monaco, Lyon and Lorient. He has made 135 Ligue 1 appearances, scoring 29 goals and providing 17 assists. He spent the first half of this season on loan at Al-Taawoun in Saudi Arabia.
