Club Brugge took poor second provincial division side KFC Heist to the sword during a pre-season friendly. Heist conceded an incredible 22 times as Club Brugge got stuck in to their lower league rivals. Under pressure striker Roman Yaremchuk helped himself to six goals, while Andreas Skov Olson bagged a hat-trick. While they will certainly face stronger opposition when the league starts in just over a weeks time, it should certainly give the fans and players confidence that the side possess a clearly very ruthless streak.
For Yaremchuk, there is hope that new manager Ronny Deila will be able to help the Ukrainian international rediscover the form he had shown in previous seasons at Gent. It was with the Buffaloes that Yaremchuk appeared to be one of the top strikers in the league, with Benfica opting to sign the forward. However, since returning to Belgium as Club Brugge’s record signing, he has struggled. The six goals he scored against Heist is more than he managed at all last season. His form could go a long way to helping Club Brugge regain the title after they were overtaken by Antwerp.
