Romano gives huge Barcola to Liverpool update amid Arsenal hijack claims | OneFootball

Fabrizio Romano has provided his latest update on Bradley Barcola and his potential move to Liverpool amid claims Arsenal could yet hijack the transfer.

The Reds have been looking to get a deal for Barcola over the line for weeks now but Liverpool are reluctant to get near Paris Saint-Germain’s valuation of the player.

PSG had demanded around €170m for Barcola earlier in the summer, according to reports, but they have now softened that approach to ask for between €130m and €150m.

After having bids of €100m and €115m rejected, Ben Jacobs revealed last week that Liverpool are now set to improve their offer to £117m (€136.5m).

Jacobs said: “I still think Liverpool will place a formal bid between now and the end of the window.

“Ultimately, if it’s more than Morgan Rogers, it’s more than Elliot Anderson [£116m], and it’s closer in money to the Yan Diomande deal, it stands a very realistic chance of getting done.”

Liverpool might want to get a move on with a source telling Caught Offside that Arsenal could enter the race for Barcola ” aggressively” if they sense an opportunity.

The source warned: “Liverpool and PSG still have no agreement on Barcola; there’s a significant gap in valuation. Arsenal haven’t completely gone away and could aggressively enter the conversation again if it becomes clear this deal is really stalling.”

‘Liverpool are absolutely on it’ – Romano

However, Italian football insider Romano insists that he is “still super optimistic” that Liverpool will get a deal for Barcola over the line before the transfer window shuts.

Romano said on his YouTube channel: “Don’t forget about Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye because both players once again are not part of the Paris Saint-Germain squad for the weekend.

“Bradley Barcola has been one of the sagas of the summer. If you are a friend of my YouTube channel, you heard Bradley Barcola to Liverpool since May, and I remain still super optimistic because Liverpool are working on it.

“There is a daily conversation with PSG. “I [didn’t] expect a breakthrough over the weekend. I always told you it’s going to be a slow deal.”

Before Romano added:”We are going to be in the final days of the summer transfer window, and that’s the case because it’s going to be next week and so I don’t know if it’s going to be on the line day or before, but the conversation is going to the very end.
