Romário and Pedrinho lead tributes to Vasco idol Geovani

Geovani, a Vasco idol, died on Monday aged 62, prompting tributes from former team-mates and the club.
According to Globo.com, the former playmaker, nicknamed the Pequeno Príncipe, had three spells with the club and scored 50 goals in 408 appearances. Messages were shared on social media.
Romário remembered Geovani’s influence from the start of his own career at Vasco, calling him a great friend who was present in many important moments, and he offered strength to family and friends.
Club president Pedrinho also sent condolences, posting a brief message wishing the club idol to rest in peace.
The official account described Geovani as an eternal idol and a symbol of on-field genius, noting he arrived in the early 80s and left a lasting legacy with the number 8 shirt.
