Romário says Brazil are missing a figure who truly connects with the ‘amarelinha’ support.

"I think I have become even more important than I was. Years ago we had Romário, Ronaldo, but today there is no one. That is why we remain important," he told The Guardian.

"We have great significance in Brazilian football because we won and represented. Unfortunately, today, no one represents us any more," Romário said.

Head coach Carlo Ancelotti has four more training sessions to run. Neymar is the only absentee from the work, as he continues to recover from a calf injury.

Brazil face Morocco in their World Cup opener at 19:00 Brasília time on Saturday 13 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
