Ronaldinho linked to late rescue bid for ASM Basket | OneFootball

Ronaldinho is part of a three-strong group that has made a late approach to take over ASM Basket, with the French champions racing towards a CNOSF appeal deadline on 18 August, seen as a last chance to remain professional.

According to Nice-Matin, a letter of intent dated 10 August was sent to general manager Oleksiy Yefimov, outlining a potential investment. The non-binding document defines headline legal and financial terms only.

The trio comprises Ronaldinho, represented by his lawyer, Andorra-based investment fund Clayton SA, and Romain Goiran, vice-president of the Barbagiuans and a well-known figure in the principality. Goiran’s connections and drive are credited with prompting the approach.

If concluded, the deal would be worth 12 million euros, including a 5 million bank guarantee. That 5 million matches the DNCCG’s long-standing requirement for the Roca Team to be eligible at the start of the next season.

In parallel, the Jamal Mashburn camp has been in talks since May over a 10 million takeover that has repeatedly stalled and is not yet fit for submission to the authorities.

The Ronaldinho, Clayton and Goiran group would seek 100% of the club’s capital to gain full control and probably install its own leadership. Without a fully formed, or at least advanced, bid by that date, a CNOSF appeal would be futile.
