Rony suffers ankle sprain, doubt for Santos v Fluminense | OneFootball

According to Diario Do Peixe, Rony has sprained his right ankle and is a doubt for Santos against Fluminense on Sunday 19 at 16:00 at Vila Belmiro, in the 12th round of the Brasileirão.

The No 11 sustained the sprain in training on Wednesday 15, leaving on crutches, though tests found no lesion.

On Thursday 16 and Friday 17 he worked indoors in the gym. The squad have a second session on Friday and another on Saturday 18 before the match, and will await his condition. He is still in significant pain, and the aim is for him to have mobility and be 100% to be included.

Santos are already without left-back Escobar, suspended after his third yellow card, and head coach Cuca, sent off in the last round against Galo.

Rony joined this year from Atlético-MG for three million euros on a deal running to the end of 2028. He has one goal and one assist in 14 appearances, across 964 minutes.

In the Paulistão he scored against Noroeste and set up a goal against Velo Clube in four games. He also has one outing in the Sul-Americana and nine in the Brasileirão.
