Barcelona’s summer signing Roony Bardghji is still adjusting to life at his new club, but one moment has already left a profound mark on him.

After stepping onto the pitch of the new Spotify Camp Nou during the open training session, the young attacker revealed that the squad has begun mentally preparing for their eventual return to the iconic stadium.

Reflecting on the occasion, he described what it felt like to be part of such a historic moment.

“It was special. It was a dream. It turned out to be absolutely magical when we stepped onto the Camp Nou pitch.

“And that’s even though it’s not even at half capacity, but even so, it was very special,” he began saying as quoted by SPORT.

Bardghji admitted he was genuinely surprised by the atmosphere created during that first session.

With thousands of supporters filling the stands to witness the team train, the young forward found himself swept up in the energy.

“There were a lot of fans in the stands, so it was great. It was a very difficult experience to explain,” he said.

What is being said inside the dressing room?

While he couldn’t provide an exact date for Barcelona’s official return to Spotify Camp Nou, Bardghji shared what the squad has been told internally.

“We want to go to the new stadium quickly. The players have already discussed it, and of course, we want to play there as soon as possible.

“It will be special, and I hope it will be ready very soon.

“Before coming to the national team, we were just told that we will most likely play there very soon, although the stands will not be full yet. So it will be great.”

Thoughts on Messi’s visit

The Swedish winger also reacted to the viral image of Lionel Messi visiting Camp Nou to observe the progress of the reconstruction.

The squad was taken by surprise when the photo surfaced, and Bardghji admitted he would have cherished the chance to meet the Barcelona legend.

“The truth is that none of us knew he was there. I would have loved to see him.”

When asked if he wants Messi to return to Barcelona, he noted, “It would be amazing to meet him someday, and maybe play with him, of course. But that’s it.”

Light-hearted moment with De Jong

During the open session, Bardghji became a fan favourite after wearing a body camera to capture parts of training from his perspective.

The footage even sparked a light-hearted moment in the squad, with Frenkie de Jong poking fun at his height.

The Dutchman joked, “You can’t see his face! You can only see him at waist height! You can’t see his face when Rooney arrives!”

Far from being offended, Bardghji laughed it off, explaining that it was received in good humour in the dressing room.

“A lot of people in the locker room laughed about it. It was fun, we get along well, we sit together in the locker room, and I have no problem with these jokes,” he added.

Time with Rashford

Meanwhile, the young winger was also asked about his chemistry with Marcus Rashford, another summer signing, to which he said,

“It’s great. Like I said, it’s no different from any other team. We’re like brothers. We spend every day together. We play matches together.

“We win together, lose together. And off the pitch, we have an excellent relationship.

“We try to spend as much time as possible together to build a good bond.”

The Swedish was also asked about his first-ever El Clasico experience. He noted that he is honoured to be a part of such a big match.

“It was big, of course. It’s the biggest match. You can really feel that. You can feel it in the media and in everything.

“There was heat. And on the pitch and after the match, a lot happened. I wasn’t part of that, to be honest, but a lot happened.

“A lot of emotions. It’s a big match. A lot of competition. That’s natural. But it was great to be part of it.”

On Lamine Yamal

Bardghji was further quipped about his thoughts on Lamine Yamal and why the Spaniard is always in the headlines.

“We know he was suffering from some issues. I don’t know how he feels. He’s played some matches recently, maybe the pain came back a bit. No comment.”

Lastly, the youngster opened up on his relationship with Barcelona manager Hansi Flick, saying,

“I have a good relationship with Hansi. He’s a great coach, as I’ve said several times. The club trusts me, and that means a lot.

“As for the rest, I don’t know. I think it’s just something that was written,” he concluded.
